Hi there! We have been excitedly looking forward to showing off Katie and Michael’s Engagement Session from November 2017 here on the blog.
These two are looking forward to tying the knot in June of 2018, and their session was a perfect look at fall in Southern Virginia – full of laughter and beautiful mountain scenes. Keep reading to catch a sneak peek of their session and get to know them a little better.
The Wednesday of Katie and Michael’s session was the last day of the 2017 season for Sierra Vista, a beautiful rustic barn venue located in Bedford, Virginia with a breathtaking view of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Luckily the future Burges’ were able to sneak in the last of the colorful fall foliage and snuggle up in the broom sage for a joyful, warm look that perfectly showcases that Virginia is for Lovers.
Its no secret around here that we LOVE engagement photos, and Katie and Michael were a perfect example of just why we enjoy them so much. During the session these two never stopped laughing together. They were up for off-the-beaten-path locations, silly prompts, and plenty of walking. They share such a comfortable, lived-in love that we were surprised to hear that they haven’t been together for years and years! Over and over while shooting weddings, we’ve heard the phrase “when you know, you just know” and that applies to these two so genuinely – they just fit.
Sierra Vista features a traditional log cabin for the groom and his groomsmen to get ready in on the big day, and during the engagement session I asked Katie and Michael to take a seat in the rocking chairs on the front porch of the cabin for a detail shot of Katie’s engagement ring. You should’ve seen the look these two shared while discussing growing old together and sharing a front porch with rocking chairs. Y’all, my heart!! You’ll just have to see for yourselves below.
We can’t wait to share Katie’s bridals and the Burge’s wedding with you later on this year!
